Sun Exposure

Updated: Jul 29, 2022

The sun can be good but it can also be harmful. Exposure to too much Ultraviolet Rays can be extremely damaging to your skin. Depending on your skin type, UV rays can be extremely damaging even if you use sunscreen. Most fair people should not have 30 minutes of direct sunlight while darker skin people should not have more that two hours of direct sunlight. People who fall in the middle should not have more that 45 minutes to an hour of direct sunlight. Ultraviolet rays are also harmful on overcast days and fair skinned or lighter skinned people should be especially aware.

UV rays no matter the time of year should be considered before venturing outside. Whether working in a garden, playing sports or taking a leisurely walk, always wear a hat and wear long sleeves and pants if planning to be out for a long time. Taking care of your skin should be routine and products like Smooth California can assist with your skincare regime.
